The sound of my Bellucci guitar has really changed a lot this past year.  Having never had a custom guitar before, I had my doubts in the beginning that the sound would change yet it has, and for the better. As a classical guitarist progresses in their playing the quality and production of sound becomes important and appartent.  There are some pieces of music that if played on a good sounding guitar can highen awarness, can stir emotion.   A point where guitar and player begin to communicate.  Mr. Bellucci's guitars are among those that have this quality of sound.  Just remeber, with any custom made guitar, it's a growing process in that the guitar needs time to change (dry, bend, etc...).  When you buy one I hope your experience will be as rewarding as mines.
Thanks again!

MexicoDear Renato, my precious baby has arrived ! She is all I dreamed she would be. Anything I may say will not do this beauty any justice. I am immensely thankful and speechless. Thank you for all your attentions and for making so many players happy.

USHello Renato,

La Espanola has arrived yesterday and indeed, she's a one of a kind jewel!  I wanted to share with you how impressed I am with the flawless artistic craftsmanship as well as with the wonderful musical projection of this beautiful instrument. The fine details that so much appealed to me in the pictures and sample video posted in your website, come short of doing justice to the honor of contemplating and playing the real thing. The experience of tuning the guitar was done with the utmost respect, as I was pretty conscious of me witnessing first-hand the wonderful sounds and colors of my guitar coming to life. Once properly tuned, I could really tell she has a very vivid projection, one that grows in you by the minute with a clarity and richness of sound which I've never heard in any other guitar I've played to this date; to this I must add the ease of play as a very intrinsic character that makes you fall for this instrument at first play.

Thank you so much for delivering quality, beauty and satisfaction through one of the most rewarding on-line shopping experiences there is. Yours is a truly professional service, certainly client-oriented and one that matches advertisement, technology and state of the art products with great value (even the selection of the sturdy hard-shell carrying case reveals a true commitment to the high quality of its contents!); the courier express delivery and their monitored access follow-up was another highlight of great costumer service. You have done a great job in putting together your website as part of a business that combines expertise, knowledge and art into a very special showcase that glows with your love for the instrument and music, transcending to your clients.  I am also very pleased to have signed up as a member and enjoy access to the vast musical knowledge and useful learning tools. I feel privileged to be one of your costumers and I want to take this opportunity to thank you and your luthier for bringing me so much joy and happiness in one single package; I hope to have the opportunity to visit Luque in the near future (a place that I once visited and stayed during a one month vacation in the 80's and from which I have very fond memories) and look forward to meet you and visit your workshop in person.

un fuerte abrazo,

Dear Renato:
Thank you for the magnificent  job you did in building my guitar.

Firstly, I think that it is the most beautiful instrument I have ever seen and secondly the design is  just the sort of guitar I like. The neck and fingerboard are  particularly good and allow for a very clean left hand sound. The guitar is surprisingly similar to a 1969 David Rubio that I own. The  Rubio has a very warm and full sound but they way your guitar is  developing it won't take long for it to match or even surpass the Rubio.

Once again thank you for such a superb instrument

USRenato,

Today my guitar arrived.  Today I am speechless.  My guitar arrived in 4 days as promised and upon opening the case I cannot believe my eyes!  As promised, this guitar is perfect!  The quality and finish is beyond any expectation I had, it is flawless.  No words can describe it.  It is awesome.  Your builder is truly gifted.   You have made me the guitar of my dreams.   Not only is she a work of art, but the ease of play is amazing…I will have to learn all over again, and this time I will enjoy it!

I will admit at first I was skeptical, as many may be.  After all, ordering a custom guitar online from a foreign country!  My friends said I was crazy!   I was warned against fraud, poor construction, less than quality wood, etc., etc. They said concert quality guitars can't be made for that price, and in that short of time; something has to be wrong…nobody allows that degree of customization.  Maybe they are made in China?   All of them said the same thing; I am throwing away my money!  I had been watching and admiring your web site for months and after communicating with you I decided to take a chance.  It was absolutely the best decision, you are a man of your word.  Today those same friends of mine are now also speechless!   Looking at my guitar, "unbelievable" is the common comment.  They are green with envy.  I can only smile.

My guitar is beautiful beyond belief and the construction is perfect.  The pictures on the web only hint of the quality.  You customized it exactly as I requested and now she is unique to me, not a mass produced model number 2, or 3, etc., but totally unique.  As time passes, the sound and feel will only become better.   I cannot be happier.  Thank you, thank you.

God bless you,

USI have been playing her constantly for the past two days.  You don't want to put her down.  Wow!, what a difference in the quality of sound and it is so light.  My fingers aren't cramped anymore and feel better when I play.  Now whenever I pick up my son's  guitar  it feels awkward already.  The Bellucci is so much more high quality.
Thanks, Shawn USA, August 2007

USDear Renato: I met my teacher today (who studied with and is friends with Pepe Romero).  James  was very impressed with my new Bellucci guitar.  Not only is it esthetically beautiful, he loved the tone, the full sound, and he noticed very quickly that the fret board is thinner than usual which he said is perfect for me.  He loved the radiused fretboard, too.  He said I was going to have a lot of fun with this guitar, and that it would be easy for me to learn to play it. He felt it was a wonderful choice, the best thing I could do because he agreed it was easy to play and had an impressive sound.  He loved the wood, he mentioned the spruce top over and over again. Thank you, Renato.  Please add me to your list of very happy, satisfied customers.

Thank you for building such a beautiful instrument ! I simply cannot put it down. Playing is a lot easier that with my other guitars. My playing is on a totally new level now. The attention to detail is simply spectacular !  I will be sending more business to you because you deserve it. Thank you

USDear Renato: My Bellucci guitar # 2 arrived safely today and it's amazing. The workmanship is extraordinary and the box seems as responsive as # 1 ,  which sounds like a locomotive!!    Thanks again for the efforts of yourself and all the artists in residence.  It looks like another bravura performance !!
Thanks again for exceeding all my expectations... it's a BEAUTY !!! Best Regards,   Steve Miller,  Rochester   NY, June 29 2007

USDear Renato;
I want to thank you for the beautiful guitar. It is wonderful.   My music teacher  agreed and was very impressed with the workmanship. You will get another order from him. Thank you again for all the work you did.  It plays very easily, my fingers have no problems  to stop any note. The sound is fantastic. It can not be any better than this can it????? I also like the case, such quality.....Lots of hugs.. Sonia....Thousand thanks

Canadian flagDear Renato,
I received the guitar yesterday. It is absolutely magnificent. You did a
superb job in matching the Brazilian Rosewood grain, especially where the
neck meets the body. It's incredible.
The tone and playability are excellent, and I expect it will become even
better as the woods settle, acclimatize and mature.
Thank you Renato for creating for me a "perfect guitar". I will be back for
more.

CubaDear  Maestro Renato
I have had the guitar you built for me for a little over a year now. Your instrument has proven to be an excellent one and passes the test of time with flying colors. She sounds better with every passing day. I wish you luck and health.

USDear Renato,   I just received my beautiful flamenco guitar.  "Absolutely stunning".  I was in awe of the pictures but to see her in person is, without question, a sight to behold.  You must be extremely proud of yourself for creating such a masterpiece.  I am amazed at how beautiful cypress can be when done with such superb craftsmanship and she is as light as a feather.
I will be sure to follow your instructions on her care because I know I will be keeping her forever.  To put it simply....." I love her".  She is my Senorita for life.  Thank you ever so much.  You are the best.

USRenato, La Espanola has arrived and of course it is spectacular!!  I find it hard to believe that wood can be worked by human hands into such an astonishing creation  It would be worth a trip to Asuncion just to see the studio in action.   Amazing work... my compliments on a great work of art... BRAVO!

USRenato...thanks for the beautiful guitar ! Sweet tone and harmonics... it has a perfect amount of reverb in how it resonates. It is also easier to play than my other guitars, as it states on your website. I couldn't be happier. She's a keeper. Donald, USA May 9th 2007

USToday she has arrived.  The pictures that you took and allowed me to see were beautiful but even they did not prepare me for actually seeing this instrument and holding it in my hands.  This guitar is a work of art just to look at.  The love that you put into your work shows through. I tuned it up immediately and  I was able to see what she sounded like.  The sound is so very sweet and the action is so fine that the instrument almost plays itself. This is without doubt the finest guitar that it has been my privilege to play.  I thank you sir!  I shall cherish it for the rest of my life. Also thank you for the excellent hard shell case.  It is very nice. Sincerely, Chris Harrison, USA

Thank you for having built such a beautiful instrument and my congratulations to the luthier, I can tell that he does his work with care and a deep knowledge of guitar construction. My sincere regards, this will not be the only Bellucci I intend to buy. Be sure of that. A big hug, Gonzalo, Seville- Spain

New ZealandDear Renato, Ziggy's guitar arrived! She is absolutely beautiful. Ziggy played her for many hours today. Our family thanks you very much for all your patience and we also thank all the people involved in making her. We are looking forward to purchasing another Bellucci Guitar in a few years for Ziggy's younger brother Miles. Kind regards, Chris Johnston, New Zealand, Apr.16, 2007.

USRenato ,  La Española is wonderful !   The more I play it,  the more it feels  and sounds beautiful.  I really love this guitar !   Thanks for everything.  I will tell all my friends about your guitars.

KazakstanRenato:  I've received guitar yesterday, she's the best that I played in my life. Sound is beautiful and strong, perfect separated of voices. I've played Bach's suite E-moll bwv 996, baroque music sounds very beautiful on my concert Bellucci guitar. Perfect work! I think, that my guitar is the best.
Thanks to you Renato, the guitar is perfect, I' m very happy!

USRenato, my new baby is everything I hoped for and more.  Just beautiful.  The spruce is gorgeous and the Brazilian rosewood is breathtaking.  What projection.  She already has a warm tone but I can tell that she is just getting ready to open up big time (she's so new I'm sure she still thinks she more of a tree than a guitar but I intend to convince her to the contrary in short order). I just cranked out the cello prelude, prelude in Dm, Frog Galliard and Sunburst (York).  Her intonation seems right on the money.   She's extremely responsive already and capable of producing many different tone colors.  The action is perfect.  I couldn't be happier with her, brother.  You and the builder delivered all you promised and more.  I thank you sincerely for that.

CanadaHi Renato;  Got the guitar yesterday, let it sit overnight before opening. Words cannot express my happiness. This is the Classical I have been looking for for 45 years. A work of sonic art, so playable. Best top I have ever seen.    Thanking you;  Gregory Donaldson

USThank You!! I received my guitar yesterday Friday March 2nd. I have never played a guitar so well made. When I first looked at it and then put it in my hands I immediately knew and felt a quality in an instrument I have never known in my 58 years. It is so beautiful. I just enjoy looking at it. I have never played a guitar like this. I have played others worth thousands more but the quality of those guitars do not compare to yours. The guitar I have been playing for over 30 years has a thicker and more rounded neck. I much prefer the design of your neck. The neck and adjustment on your guitar is so much more responsive and the chord blends are so much more clear in their timbre. I can feel a greater sense of the chord especially in the upper part of the neck.
I just love the way it feels in my hands.  I am so thrilled that I made this purchase and I have you to thank. I so appreciate your readiness to correspond which has been a blessing to me, You are a great man and an exceptional human being. In much appreciation. Thank You, William US

ArgentinaDear Renato,  I am so entranced by the beauty of this guitar both aesthetically and audibly. In just a matter of days the guitar unlocked new ways for me to express emotion with dynamics that I never dreamed of. Everyday I feel like a new sound comes alive in the guitar.  Thank you so much for constructing the instrument that will bring so many new opportunities. Con muchas, muchas gracias, Facundo, Argentina

USRenato: The guitar arrived today (Feb 21, 2007) in perfect condition. The guitar is beautiful. I congratulate you on producing this wonderful instrument. If I could play as well as the guitar looks, I would be a virtuoso. Thank you very much.

USDear Renato, I can not express my appreciation for the beautiful instrument your Luthier has made. It is absolutely exquisite. It was all I hope for and more. Having a knowledge that guitars tonally improve with age I know with time the sound will even be better, but I don't know how it could sound any better than it does now.  The vibrato is lush, nuance comes forth so easily, the color range is wide and this all combines with an ease of playing that is unsurpassed at this price. Very Nice!  It is everything that a Classical guitar should be, light, clear but sweet, robust in the low end, loud, easy to handle, even and balanced between registers, good sustain, singing trebles, easy to play and a joy to express on. In the  U.S. this guitar would have cost me in the 7 to 10 thousand dollar range. It is absolutely gorgeous. Words can not express my appreciation. I will cherish this gift always. Please express my thanks to your luthier. He is a great builder. Thank you my friend.

HollandDear Renato,
I received the striped Macassar ebony/Spruce beauty !!
After unpacking, the first and only thing I did was looking at her.
I remember my first love and I can tell you that the same feelings were back again in my mind.   I can see she was built with love and a lot of craftsmanship. The sound is beautiful . Thank you and your luthier for this outstanding work.

Dear Renato,
I received the fabulous maple cutaway, yesterday. The maple parts are literally marbling ! All of details are beautiful and elegant. The sound is crystalline, but also so mellow. I can hear different and various kinds of harmonic overtones at one time. The sound's character is so unique and ravishing. I'm also fully satisfied with the scale length of 640 mm, as my hands are not big enough for 650 mm. Thank you Renato and the luthier for an awe-inspiring instrument.
With warm regards,

USDear Renato Bellucci,
With all of my heart, I have always been VERY good with words. I've written several novels countless poems (Some I allowed to be published) and I have never interviewed for a job that I didn't get because I always know what to say and the right time to say it, but when I opened the package with my Cedar Top inside today I went blank and all I had were very strong emotions that had no words to fit them. When I began this THANK YOU letter I knew that to describe the guitars beauty or it's sound or tone or it's workmanship or even how I felt all the way through my soul would only insult you and your guitars for there are no English words that express what should be said. Every word I know of does not rise high enough to do it justice. So in order not to belittle You or your masterpieces I will simply say before the entire world that I could not be more pleased and (this coming from a man who used to buy and sell antique guitars) I've never heard a better sounding guitar IN MY LIFE! You shipped it Monday, I got it Wednesday, the service and courtesy and sense of friendliness knew no bounds! To anyone else reading this: Don't hesitate any longer! Buy a guitar from this man and then guard it with your life!  Search all you wish, it is a waste of time--buy a BELLUCCI first and save all that time, money and disappointment for this is the guitar you are looking for, I promise!!!  I know of no way I could possibly ever thank you properly but I gladly say this: MAY GOD DEEPLY AND RICHLY BLESS YOU EVEN GREATLY BEYOND WHAT HE ALREADY HAS. A true friend for life.

USRenato, what can I say? I know you have heard this many, many times before, but WOW! Just the looks of this guitar alone are simply breathtaking. The dark cedar top with he Australian rosette and dark binding is simply hard to believe. It is the most beautiful guitar I have ever seen in my life. The Bolivian Rosewood on the back amazes everyone who sees it.
About the sound? Sir, I was stunned from the very first chord I rolled! There is balance of gorgeous rich penetrating tone and power in every register. The guitar lacks nothing. I especially am appreciative of the low-profile neck. I do not have really large hands and, therefore, love the feel and shape of this neck. I can get around quickly without fatigue. I also love the laminated maple and ebony through the neck. Strong yet a work of art!
Renato, I cannot thank you enough. I don't think I have ever been this happy. I will play this one forever!
Sincerely,

Comments : Dearest Renato: I have recently reciprocated the insanity your web-site, and your beautiful instruments, have caused me, by driving you crazy, and e-mailing you "daily", with specifications and details for "la Senorita" , i fell desperately in love with, on your photo-gallery, and finally gave in to order. I will certainly send my comments and reactions in a few months, after i will have had an opportunity to touch and "tocar" la Senorita. In the meantime, however, it will suffice to say, that the beauty of your "art" is an expression of your personality... of a gentlemanly artist contagiously inspiring with your passion, dedication, integrity and -certainly- with your genius. I feel privileged to have exchanged correspondence with you, and that you will be now working on a guitar for me. You have elevated this instrument, and the industry behind it, to a newer and more noble stage, where cosmetic beauty is embued with the serene, powerful strength of the spirit that conceived it; a deeper sentiment survives the shallow desire to have and own your guitars, a need to deserve the blessing of your art. Thank you for sharing your Art and your Heart, with us all. Giacomo.

Comments : I have been playing 44 years (since the age of 9). At the age of 21 i heard Segovia (a life changing experience) and started taking classical lessons (Sagreras method). At the age of 33 i went back to college to get my computer science degree. During those years i neglected to practice very much because of the heavy work load. I did manage to hold onto my technique however. Anyway when the dot com meltdown hit the US i became unemployed. This however allowed me get back into a regular practice routine. I am now working on the Chaconne. It feels great to be with doing what was my first interest as a child. I do not claim to be a great musician but i am a great lover of the guitar.

When I was young, he gave me one of his concert guitars (dreadnought body, steel string) but I never learned to play it properly. Here I am now on the cusp of 40 years old with two children of my own. For some reason, I now have a burning desire to play classical guitar. Comments : Re-started teaching guitar and mountain dulcimer this year with a different goal: to allow the students to realize music will be with them always, when they are celebrating, when they are deep in sorrow, when they are playing, or lost in thought. To have a heartfelt relationship with music, one needs to know the language, but one need not be limited to "paper music" alone. Exposing the kids to Classical, Old Swing/Country, Bluegrass, Baroque, and folk music, mostly. Steering clear of the idea that a guitar player needs to be either a "Rock star" or "failure". There is a whole lot of beauty in the in-between. Getting some everyday folks as guest speakers and hoping for field trips to various local jams. Thanks for your site. Inspiring.

All of your guitars are absolutley beautiful, but the Black Limba/Red Cedar - to own a classical intstument of such great craftsmanship is my dream. As far as your lessons, well, I have not yet managed to get past gazing at your wonderful guitars! But i have just read the comments from your students, and I may just have to become a Mangore.com member. Thanks for the inspiration, and I will own a Black Limba Belllucci in the near future.

Comments : I'm 72 and have played classical / flamenco guitar , on-and-off, most of my life but only within the past 4 years have become serious. I have had few formal lessons and read / play via standard music notations (as long as I stay on the top 5 frets) or tabs (play the keyboard). I came across your site by making a search and have been impressed. I plan to join in late December and am very much looking forward to it.

Comments : I have no musical instrument experience. Now at 76, retired and living in the California Veterans I have the time. A friend has temporarily loaned me a guitar. I purchased some books including Parkening. My fingers are on the short side and I found reaching the strings difficult. Also the posture was wrong. I have studied and had a deep tissue body alignment practice ( like Rolfing). And yet could not get resonably comfortable.Since I have become faced the need to either buy a guitar or quit, I was leaning toward the latter. For me the guitar is a great expense. Then I found your website, the sitting position works and is comfortable. I seem to be able to find the strings! Thank you.

Comments : Many of your comments in the guest areas ring so true to me. I am a self taught,left-handed guitarist who plays well from tablature but is insecure about playing technique, music, repertoire and performing. I have only had a few lessons and one master class, since I live in Alaska. My wife says I should be playing more in public but I feel that will take a leap of faith and technique. I have just found your site and am trying your recommendations on playing position. I find they greatly reduce tension, which helps my carpal tunnel problems. You can expect to hear more from me. Wonderful website. Thank You!

I have had lessons locally for a couple of years from a classical player. He is very regimented and always corrects my hand positions etc so I am always uncomfortable, I love Latin music and would love to be able to feel the rhytms and play the music. Jao Gilberto/and Jobim send shivers down my spine. I love most Spanish music and can play Lagrima in my own way, from memory more than sight reading. Is there any benefit in a player of my limited ability signing into this site.

Comments : Renato,

Last night I got to play several of your guitars owned by someone who lives close to me here in Nevada (US). First, let me say that I have bachelor and masters degrees in classical guitar performance, and I have taught privately or over 30 years, and ran a college guitar program for many years. Over the years I have owned Rodriguez, Oribe, Mattingly and other guitars. I say all this because people usually consider the source when they read remarks, and rightly so. Sir, these guitars are amazing! They would be remarkable at any price, but your prices are truly hard to believe. The stunning beauty of the exotic woods from which they are made is hard to put into words. When I saw them, I just stood there staring (as great as the pictures of the woods and guitars look on the website, they don’t come close to their real-life beauty and elegance). All this is enhanced by the fine craftsmanship of the builder. These are among the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen.

I actually played a couple of the instruments that appear on your galley page. One is made of Bolivian rosewood and cedar (this guitar appears near the bottom of that page). The response and playability (more important that anything to me) are quick and easy, yet the guitar is powerful with great sustain and “belly.” Yes, many makers are achieving this these days, but what struck me most was the warmth and unique tonal character of each instrument. I was easily able to achieve full, beautiful colors and the most subtle nuances. Everyone there remarked about this. I also played your guitars made of padauk, bubinga, and quilted sepele. Some had cedar soundboards, and some has spruce. Each was unique and wonderful.

I look forward to soon owning one of your instruments, Renato, and let me say that I would have no problem replacing any of the guitars I have owned with one of yours -- regardless of the price! I would recommend anyone teetering on the decision whether or not to order one to do so with no apprehension. What you present is a truly unique opportunity for classical guitar lovers.

I look forward to further contact with you Renato,  have my deepest respect. Thanks, Mel

I appreciate the free imformation and just wanted to let you no this. I have been playing guitar of and on for many years and always knew that fundamentals are found in classical guitar. Will have to subcribe to the six month on line, I am sure I will find a rebirth in playing the instrument. Comments : Renato,

Every few months I find myself coming back to your guestbook to leave a few more comments and share my experiences regarding mangore.com with others.

In particular, I want convey my appreciation for your patience and guidance in helping me learn to play the guitar! I just eight short months I have learned three beautiful classical pieces and I am now working on my fourth, Brazilian Portrait by Baden Powell. Playing has brought me so much peace and comfort and has stimulated my mind and creativity more than anything in the past ten years. For all of these things, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you and Mr. "G" for building such a beautiful guitar for my daughter, Maurissa. The dedication that is attached to the pictures of the guitar is simply precious and my administrative assistant thought it was delightful and heart warming. Without a doubt, something that will be saved along with her guitar for many years to come. For me, it will always be with me as a warm reminder of the thought and care that you have extended to Maurissa and I, and for making "The Penguin" come to life. There will never be enough words to express my appreciation, but if you could see the expression on my face and look into my eyes and the eyes of Maurissa, they would express what the words cannot.

Again, thank you for everything that you have done for me. I cherish every masterpiece that you have built for me and I am not done yet. Your instruments are works of art and when you play them, you realize how truly special they are. I look forward to our continued friendship and the day that we can meet in person.

With warmest regards and Hearfelt thanks,

Virgil

Comments : Dear Mr. Bellucci:

I have visited your site a number of times and am hopeful that this summer I will be able to register.

This is a wonderful site, for those who love the classical guitar.

I started studying almost 20 years ago but had to stop. At that time I sold my guitar and never thought I would get back to it.

About a year and a half ago I was practicing Hanon exercises on a keyboard I bought for my wife and one day asked why I was practicing piano, I want to play classical guitar.

My wife smiled and said, "you want to play classical guitar". She was right. I found an American luthier who spec's a guitar called a Pavan, hand built in Spain by apprentises in the finer luthiers in Madrid (as I understand). Anyway, I bought one of the top end Pavan's.

It's a wonderful guitar, but I'm already looking at one of your cedar tops for later this Summer.

My wife says, "but you have a guitar", and I say yes, but I don't have a Bellucci concert guitar.

Although I took instruction from a classical guitarist some 20 years ago, when I started back with my studies, I primarilly have taught myself with a combinations of techniques garnered from the masters. I taught myself to sight read, at least to the extent that I can teach myself beginner and intermediate pieces, like Romance.
I have found though, that it does take time to play a piece well. People I work with have asked me to play from time to time, and they are always amazed that I have taught myself these pieces of music. My average practice time per week all of last year was about 15 hours per week.

The last few months I've had to cut my practice to about 6 hours per week due to illness (I'm 60 years old). I also know that I've come to a point where there is only so much one can learn (time permitting at my age)by teaching oneself. Hence, your wonderful site.

I appreciated your observation concerning hand positions. I have never seen a classically trained guitarist hold his hands in exactly the same position as his instructor. Consequently, my own hand right hand position fits me. My left hand position works very well, with the elbow down.
I have trained my left hand so as to avoid strain.

I have talked to much, but I wanted to tell you that I appreciate the fact that you have developed a fine site. At my age I could never afford a qualified classical instructor. I live in Colorado, USA, and there is only one fine instructor at Denver University, but one must enroll in their music program (4 years ) to get the benefits of his instruction, since he no longer teaches privately.

When I was a child, I lived in Venezuela for 5 years. At that time, my great desire was to someday become a pilot, which I did, and to play classical guitar. In the 50's in the Venezuelan interior, it was hard to find a classical instructor unless you went to Caracus, which was far away from where I lived. Even though I started late and will never be as accomplished as I might have been, it is still a great pleasure to sit down, take out my guitar, warm up and actually play some beautiful pieces.

It is my hope that soon, I can learn additional pieces and technique from your website.

One final thought. One of the reasons I chose to teach myself, aside from cost and availability of good instructors, was the fact that I knew that Segovia was self taught. I figured, if he could do it, so could I. Thus far, it has been a wonderful learning experience.

Take care. Best Regards, Cliff Zervos

If you really teach me how to get the sound of a rest stroke without playing a rest stroke I will track you down to give you a hug and a kiss!

I have already spent so much time on your site, and have learned so much already just reading and contemplating what you have to offer in the guest sections. I can't wait to actually start the master classes. I think Bach's prelude from the cello suite is where I'll start. I recently found the music surfing for Double from the violin concerto. I think I have learned it well but I will be interested to see how you teach it - I do enjoy your recording of it (as well as all of your other recordings).

I look forward to "working with you," so to speak, and thanks for a great web site. I wish you and your family and Happy and Healthy New Year.

Comments : I just discovered this site through searching the webb under "Classical Guitars."
I love the "Stupid Frequently Asked Questions"--even more, I love your answers!!!
I am a true novice, but would very much like to learn more of the "classical style" guitar. I really don't much about it, so any question I might ask would probably belong in the "stupid" category. However, if it is worth learning, it ought to be worth learning with a really good instrument. Thus, looking for a good instrument brought me to your webb site. Maybe one of your guitars is for me.
I have a Martin D-41 guitar at the present. I have heard the sound of a cedar top classical guitar and I truly love the sound.
GREAT WEBB SITE!!!

I hope it helps me compose music on the guitar...and being a technically perfect guitarist is what Im really trying to strive for. Im tired of playing music that Ive learned , but have no idea what Im playing.

Comments : Dear Renato,

I was a guest for a month before deciding to join. I shouldn't have waited that long, for the wealth of knowledge you present in this site is worth more than the price of admission.

What a difference it has made in my studies. I love your philosophy, your iconoclasm. I began studying classical guitar in the early 80s, but soon was discouraged due to the 'traditional' approach--the endless boring exercises, etc. I didn't last very long, and had abandoned my studies for two decades. I still played the guitar, but just fooled around.

I couldn't stay away forever. I'm back, and with much gusto. Too much at times, as I cannot stop playing for hours and hours. Perhaps I should see a shrink, as you had suggested for people who play/practice more than 3 hours a day.

My only regret is I didn't find mangore.com before I had purchased a Juan Hernandez Profesor. Your guitars are beautiful. (The Profesor is also a beautiful instrument, but . . . .) It takes a lot of willpower to resist whipping out my credit card and ordering a custom Mangore. I don't know how much longer I can resist.

More power to you, your family, and mangore.com. We need people like you, and sites like mangore.com in this world.

Sincerely,
Jude
