! Is the most appropriate adjective when it comes to describing this African
Blackwood concert guitar. The project promised to be a total success from
the very beginning. A terrific tap tone revealed a one in a million cut
of African Blackwood, I matched it with an Italian spruce top to balance
the deep basses creating one of the best sounds you can imagine. Deep basses
with an almost human quality to them and the most precious trebles to enhance
very melody. Mid ranges and harmonics are rich and seem to ring forever.
The action on the 630 mm is simply
UNBELIEVABLE. It is tremendously easy to play and the player feels like
a giant with huge hands. The most difficult passages are made easy and
elusive notes or difficult stretches simply cease to exist. Ladies,
children and players with small hands will find it a blessing ! The bridge
tie relief is not only slick but it makes the top vibrate fully releasing
it from the amazing tension created by the tie of the strings. The life
of the instrument is extended many decades thanks to this mechanism. The
armrest allows the top to vibrate fully and contributes at least 15 of
the 93 dbs this Blackwood babe is putting out right now. Figured macassar
ebony for the bridge and tie, Hawaiian koa for the bindings and the most
exquisite marquetry, all contribute in bringing to life one of the most
amazing instruments EVER
